Milwaukee placed Adames on the 7-day disabled list (IL) with a concussion on the 28th (Korean time).
Adames was in the dugout against the San Francisco Giants the day before (27th) and was hit in the head by a foul ball and was replaced.
In the bottom of the second inning, a foul ball hit by teammate Brian Anderson at bat flew into the dugout, and Adames was hit in the head by the ball. The match was halted for several minutes while trainers checked on Adames.
Fortunately, Adames made her way to the clubhouse on foot.
After the game, Milwaukee coach Craig Counsell said, “As a result of the medical examination, Adames has no injuries such as fractures.” Currently, Adames is resting at home.
“I was able to talk to Adames a little bit last night,” said Anderson, who hit the foul. He kept telling me, ‘Don’t worry about me,’” and expressed his apologetic heart, saying, “I am praying and hoping for a speedy recovery for Adames.”
