Parking lot control and landslide due to heavy rain… up to 100mm lower

It rained heavily across the country over the weekend, causing damage such as road slopes being washed away and electricity being cut off. In particular, heavy rain damage is expected to increase as rain spreads across the country this morning. Up to 100 mm or more of rain is expected in some areas.

According to the Central Safety Countermeasures Headquarters (Critical Script) on the 10th, as of 6 am on the same day, rain accompanied by gusts, thunder, and lightning is falling at a rate of 30 to 60 mm per hour, centering on the Chungcheong, Gyeonggi-do, and Jeollaseo coasts. EBI is expected to expand nationwide this morning. The expected precipitation is 20 to 80 mm (more than 100 mm in many places) in central, Jeolla, Gyeongbuk, and Jeju, and 5 to 60 mm in Yeongdong and Gyeongsang, Gangwon.

Currently, the areas in which heavy rain preliminary warnings are in effect are △Gyeonggi-do △Jeonbuk △Jeonnam, and the areas in which heavy rain advisories are in effect are △Chungbuk △Chungnam △Jeonnam △Gyeonggi-do △Gangwon. Heavy rain warnings were issued in Chungnam (Gongju City) and Sejong. A strong wind warning is in effect in Gyeongbuk.

The heavy rain that fell during the night led to damage across the country. In Sangju, North Gyeongsang Province, three households suffered power outages when a tree fell, but it was restored around 9:41 pm the previous day. In Jeongseon, Gangwon, the upper slope of the Piam Tunnel on Archipelago Line 3 was lost, and both directions of the road are under control. In Sangju, North Gyeongsang Province, one person in the first generation temporarily evacuated due to concerns about slope collapse.

Currently, 32 trails in two national parks, including Mt안전놀이터. Gyeryong, and eight parking lots in Gyeonggi and Gangwon are under control. One riverside in Gyeonggi-do, two roads in Gyeonggi-Gangwon, three trails around Mt. Halla and Mt. Jirisan, and a pine forest road in Uljin and Geumgang River are also controlled. Four ships on four routes, including Tongyeong and Samcheonpo, were also suspended.

From 2:30 pm on the 9th, the critical script has raised the crisis alert from ‘interest’ to ‘caution’ and is operating stage 1 of the critical script.
