Sky Row 5 scoreless innings’ Canada defeats Colombia… WBC quarterfinals expected

Canada beat Colombia to increase their chances of advancing to the quarterfinals.

Canada won 5-0 against Colombia in the first round of Group C of the World Baseball Classic (WBC) held at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona on the 15th (Korean time). Canada, which defeated England 18-8, lost to the United States, but defeated Colombia and recorded 2 wins and 1 loss, tying with the United States. If they win against Mexico on the 16th, they can advance to the quarterfinals on their own.

Colombia’s starting pitcher Adrian Almeida pitched relatively well, allowing 2 hits, 5 strikeouts and 1 run in 3 innings. A tight match continued until the 7th inning, but the bullpen shook sharply at the end of the game. It was also painful to go 14 at-bats without a hit in the 2nd to 6th batting order. Colombia, which recorded 1 win and 2 losses, will play its final match against the strongest team in Group C, the United States, on the 16th.
